course recon pics

Ride Details

The gravel is in perfect shape for this Saturday. Here's some details for the ride, and I've got some course recon pics to post up tonight.
Address: 5872 SE 248th St. Lathrop, MO 64465.
The ride is Free!  Bring yourself, your bike, and if you have any dietary restrictions or like a certain ale then feel free to bring that along as well.  Other than that, just show up to ride and have fun.
I'll be going up Friday evening to hang out, eat, drink, and camp. If anyone would like to join me you are more than welcome. There is plenty of room to camp, or if you like, we can post camp in our "banquet hall". Bring a bag, pillow, and possibly a mat if you want to stay.
Plan of events for Saturday:
7:30 Breakfast. Biscuits, honey, jelly, scrambled eggs, milk, juice.
9:00 start. I expect the 62 miler to take anywhere from 4.5-6 hours, and the 100 miler to take anywhere from 6.5-8.5 hours.
9:00 start up the smoker. We've got pulled pork, spare ribs and possibly some chicken wings on the menu.
There will be a fully supported aid station (water, vitamin water, food, gu, powerbars, etc) at mile 31 that both 62 and 100 milers will share.
From there, the metric century will turn and follow the same scenic route back to Lathrop, to make sure the food is being cooked properly.  The rest of the group will continue to roll on through northwestern Missouri and enjoy the scenic yet challenging gravel roads.  There will be one other chance, around mile 70 or so, to re-fuel at a Casey's.  So bring a couple bucks for some goodies.  By the time the 100 milers finish, there will be a buffet of meats, sides and beer.
Good times are guaranteed to be had by all.  If there are any questions give me a call at the shop at 816-587-8181, or on my cell at 816-820-0366, or joe@cyclecitykc.com.
Quick directions from I-35.  Exit 40 (lathrop), head west 1.8 miles to Mule Barn Rd.  Turn Left (South) on Mule Barn Rd, and continue 1 mile to 248th St.  Right on 248th, and house in immediately on your right.  Old white farm house.

Metric Century Option

At the request of our local geriatrics, I will be adding a metric Century (62 miles). It will use much of the same course, and share the 31 mile aid station. Let me know if you want to sign up!
